About

Hello friends! As some of you may already know me and some of you may not, I will go ahead and introduce myself. My name is Ashley Patterson and I’m married to the greatest man alive, Will Patterson! I have a very loving and supportive family made up of my parents, two sisters and brother in-laws, the two cutest nephews ever, the best in-laws a girl could ask for, and many loving friends that I have met through all stages of my life:)!

I will try let this be short and to the point. This blog will obviously be about “nutrition!” and my daily life. I started out in college not having any idea what I wanted to do. I went in as an Accounting major. Three years and a gall bladder surgery later, I realized that I was not cut out for the business world!

Obviously my surgery is what got me into nutrition in the first place. I was borderline overweight for my height and headed down the wrong path. I got to thinking, why is my gall bladder barely functioning when I’m only 19 years old. No one in my immediate family had had any problems up to this point although we all have acid reflux. I started looking at the types of food I was eating….fried foods, processed food, fast food, etc. When your working full time and going to college you are looking for convenience. After losing so much weight from not being able to eat and then having the surgery I decided it was time for a change. I started changing my eating habits over time and incorporating exercise into my life. I got very interested in health. At ages 21 and 22, I was still having many digestive issues. I found out that I intestinal dysbiosis and food intolerances. I plan to focus this blog on tips for those who suffer from digestive issues, nutrition related news, and recipes! We can all find a way to overcome sickness and be happy to live again! God gave us one life so why not live that life as healthy, happy and as long as we can.

So here I am today attending school at Life University in Marietta, GA and majoring in dietetics. I will graduate in six months with my BS and then I plan to complete my internship to sit for the exam to become a registered dietitian. I want to work in nutritional therapy because specified diets can not only treat but PREVENT disease!

So my question for everyone is what else would you like to get from this blog? I hope to see your commments soon!
